OVERVIEW

Fractures (Broken Bones)

Fractures can occur on the inside or outside of the leg. Fractures can cause pain, swelling, and bone deformities. Rapid “reduction” is essential (setting the bones together to heal) and X-rays can be helpful. Open surgery may be necessary in extreme cases to reduce fractures. Pins, screws and plates are often used to maintain the reduction.
